The grapes for this wine come from Újezd near Brno, which is part of the Velkopavlovická wine sub-region. The grapes were beautifully ripe and healthy. Sugar content at harvest: 21%.
This Pinot Noir is ruby in colour. The nose and palate reveal notes of blueberries and dried plums; the wine is velvety and well-balanced on the palate, whilst the finish is dominated by spicy notes with hints of clove and coriander.

Maturation – following 12 months of apple-and-milk fermentation, with two-thirds aged in stainless steel and one-third in a new barrique cask, followed by two years in the bottle.
